世界的な困難の中、ワールドラクロスの会長のSue Redfernさんより日本のラクロス関係者の皆様へ心強いメッセージを頂戴しました。
Hi, I’m Sue Redfern, World Lacrosse President
皆様、ワールド・ラクロス会長のスー・レッドファーンです。
Our world today is dealing with an extraordinary challenge of an unprecedented global pandemic. Each of us has an important role to play by following the game plan in each country.
今我々は世界中が同時に感染するという極めて異常で前例のない強力なウイルスと戦っています。我々は個人個人がそれぞれの国の指導に従って行動する重要な責任を担っているのです。
We all look forward to the day when the sport returns — and I can assure you, that day will come.
勿論、世界の人々の大多数が何らかのスポーツを再開できる機会を心待ちにしていますが、その時は必ず来ます。
When it does, we hope you will consider lacrosse as a sport for you. Lacrosse is for everyone — girls and boys, women and men, of all ages. It’s fast-paced. Fun to play. It requires teamwork, athleticism, and skill and has strong values. And, most importantly, lacrosse unites people around the world in a spirit of friendship which will last a lifetime.
そしてその時が来た時に人々が選ぶスポーツはラクロスであって欲しい。ラクロスは少年少女、そしてすべての年代の男女の為のスポーツです。ラクロスは速くて楽しく、優れたチームワークも技術も、高尚なスポーツマン精神や価値観も求められます。そして最も大切な要素は、ラクロスは世界中の人たちを結び付け生涯にわたる友情を育んでくれるスポーツなのだという事です。
Join us in one of the fastest growing sports, with more than a million players in 66 countries.
I encourage all lacrosse players in Japan to help recruit new athletes by sharing their experiences of lacrosse to grow and inspire youth lacrosse in Japan.
ラクロスの競技人口はすでに100万人を超え、66か国で実施され、世界で最も成長著しいスポーツです。ラクロスをプレーしている皆様には、是非あらたに入学してきた友人たちや少年少女たちとこの素晴らしい経験を共有していただき、このスポーツの更なる成長にご協力いただきたく思います。
